Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 7:00am to 3:00pm

Join our mission-driven team as a Full Time Residential Coach at our Lisa's House Program in Plainville, CT. At Lisa's House, youth will find an array of comprehensive, client-specific treatment, services and interventions to help with emotional regulation, empowering adolescent females on decision-making and building healthy relationships, and boosting educational functioning. This will be accomplished through the implementation of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). The Residential Coach provides direct supervision, daily care, and support services for girls and their families involved with the program.

What You'll Do:
  • Performs duties involving care, custody, maintenance, educational and recreational planning and facilitation for youth in alignment with program's therapeutic model;
  • Counsels and advises girls in groups and individually by modeling appropriate behavior and encouraging girls to establish and develop effective, positive, interpersonal relationships;
  • Contributes to a safe program community and culture;
  • Facilitates daily focus and skills development groups;
  • Develops and promotes gender-specific approaches;
  • Maintains a gender-specific, relational, culturally competent, and strength-based culture within the program environment;
  • Participates in weekly planning of program goals and objectives with assigned youth;
  • Documents and maintains daily activities log in accordance with designated policies and procedure utilizing web-based and paper-versions of log books and notes;
  • Prepares timely and accurate reports regarding activities, incidents and/or girls' progress and adjustment;
  • Oversees maintenance and cleanliness of the living environment;
  • Regularly participates and contributes as a member of the program team;
  • Supports and monitors family visits and assists as necessary with family mediations;
  • Maintains order and security within the program by employing appropriate use of crisis intervention techniques and trainings;
  • Transports girls to scheduled appointments/activities and provides line of sight supervision;
  • Implements and monitors the program's behavior motivation system;
  • Demonstrates desired staff characteristics including enthusiasm, empathy, competency and the ability to model pro-social beliefs and values;
  • Ensures that medication is administered in compliance with agency policies and procedures;
  • Responds to all crisis / emergency situations and is expected to remain involved with the youth in order to ensure her safety and that of the other program participants;
  • Successfully completes all required training during business and/or regularly scheduled shift hours;
  • Performs all responsibilities and assignments in accordance with the guidelines set forth by CSSD and CSI policies and procedures;
  • Performs all other assigned, related or required duties.

Starting Salary: $21.51 per hour
What We're Looking For:
  • Associate's Degree preferred in Human Service or related field, with at least six months of relevant experience, or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of two years of professional experience in human services
  • Must be familiar with gender-responsive, relational, strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches
  • Must be able to work with challenging youth and families
  • Ability to attend first shift offsite training during first month of employment
