Starting Pay: $21.29/hour → $22.40/hour after 90 days

1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:55 am to 4:00 pm

Day shift: Tuesday-Friday, 5:55 am to 4:00 pm

Rhodes is a leading producer of high-quality frozen bread and rolls, and we are looking for dependable people to join our 1st shift and Day Shift production teams.

As a Utility Production Worker, you will learn how our products are made from start to finish. Through job rotation and as well as cross-training opportunities, you will gain experience in different areas of our production process, including quality inspection, packaging, machine operations, sanitation and material handling.

And your growth doesn’t have to stop here. As you develop your skills and demonstrate your abilities, you will have opportunities to learn new responsibilities, cross-train in additional areas and pursue advancement within Rhodes.

What You Will Do
  • Inspect dough and finished products to make sure they meet Rhodes’ quality standards.
  • Package frozen bread and rolls according to specifications, including proper labeling, sealing and date coding.
  • Place packaged products into cases and prepare them for storage and shipping.
  • Assist with machine set-ups, changeovers and production line activities.
  • Help keep equipment and production areas clean and organized.
  • Move supplies and products using hand trucks, dollies and carts.
  • Maintain accurate production records and communicate important information to team leads and other team members.
  • Help train new or less experienced employees as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
  • Participate in cleaning and sanitation activities to maintain a safe, sanitary food manufacturing environment.
  • Be available for overtime when needed. Overtime is not guaranteed.

What We Are Looking For

We’re looking for people who are dependable, willing to learn and take pride in doing quality work.

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to speak and understand English well enough to communicate effectively in the workplace and read written instructions.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning to operate production equipment.
  • Ability to follow written, verbal and diagram instructions.
  • Ability to solve routine problems and ask questions when needed.
  • Comfortable using basic computer equipment, touch screens and tablets.
  • Willingness to participate in teamwork, company initiatives and process improvement.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and bend, lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, cold and airborne particles.
