Key Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Counselor at MedCore, you will be integral in assessing and treating a variety of mental health issues. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments for individuals, adolescents, families, and groups, and triaging care based on their unique needs.
  • Utilizing graduate-level counseling techniques to deliver effective interventions tailored to the patient's circumstances.
  • Documenting assessment outcomes and sharing treatment plans in interdisciplinary meetings to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
  • Providing case management services that involve collaboration with community professionals and programs to enhance the comprehensive care of your assigned patients.
  • Adhering to ethical standards in documentation and care delivery, ensuring that patient records are completed in a timely manner.
  • Implementing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based modalities as required to support patients in achieving their individualized treatment goals.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on a diverse patient population with varying mental health needs. You will have the opportunity to work with clients from different backgrounds, including those facing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and trauma. Your ability to provide culturally sensitive care will contribute significantly to their recovery journey.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following:

  • Valid licenses as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) issued by the State.
  • A bachelorโ€™s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of direct clinical experience in a mental health setting.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients effectively.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with experience in outpatient settings, specifically those utilizing telehealth services, are highly valued. Familiarity with electronic health record systems and various therapeutic modalities, particularly CBT, will be advantageous for this role.
