Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Learning Coach will play a critical role in supporting teachers, enhancing instructional practices, and promoting student success. Implement new exciting opportunities to collaborate with educators, provide instructional guidance, and contribute to the implementation of innovative teaching strategies within a supportive educational environment.

ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES
  • Prepare, organize and set-up the team centers and support Team Centers(TC) each period.

  • Support teachers with timely transitions, i.e., start and stop and transition to and from team centers.

  • Support student independence and learning with S2 and A work.

  • Support teachers with grading and organizing S2 and A work on a weekly basis make copies for the team of teachers assigned to them.

  • Collaborate with teachers to enhance instructional strategies, differentiation, and assessment practices.

  • Support the implementation of curriculum plans aligned with state standards and district initiatives.

  • Collaborate with teachers to analyze student data and identify areas for instructional improvement.

  •  Collaborate with teachers , instructional leaders, and support staff to align initiatives and support student success.

  • Stay updated on the latest educational trends; research; and best practices.

ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES CONTINUED
  • Support  teachers in utilizing formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instructional decisions.

  • Foster a collaborative and supportive school culture by promoting open communication and teamwork.

  • Participate in school-wide initiatives, committees, and professional learning communities.

  • Support grade level lunch duty.

  • Support classroom management and substitute as needed

  • Participate in PCC and work with school community to accomplish action plan

  • Ensure objectives are written in Team Center's each day before the first group of students arrive in the TC

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education

Minimum of an Associate's degree or 60 hours of transcript college credit from an accredited college or university.

Experience

3 to 5 years

TYPE OF SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION
    Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software applications.
    Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
    Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels.
    Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
    Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
    Familiarity with office procedures, equipment, and basic technological tools.
    Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with integrity.
    Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service-oriented approach.
Flexibility to handle changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.    
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

  • No supervisory or direct people management responsibilities. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice and training to staff.    

WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT

  • Work is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department. Supervision received typically consists of providing direction on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities.

BUDGET AUTHORITY

  • No budget development activity is required.    

PROBLEM SOLVING 

  • Decisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude, but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.

IMPACT OF DECISIONS 

  • Decisions have minor, small and possibly incremental impact on the department or facility. Errors are usually discovered in succeeding operations where most of the work is verified or checked and is normally confined to a single department or phase of the organizational activities resulting in brief inconvenience.    

COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS

  • Information sharing - gives and receives information such as options, technical direction, instructions and reporting results. Interactions are mostly with customers, own supervisor and coworkers in own and other departments.    

CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS

  • Takes routine or required customer actions to meet customer needs. Responds promptly and accurately to customer complaints, inquiries and requests for information and coordinates appropriate follow-up. May handle escalated issues passed on from coworkers or subordinates.    

WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
