💼 What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Must be able to assign fabrication, finish, and installation time to each piece of millwork without the assistance of pre-determined formulas or times.
  • Bidding projects ranging in size from $2,000 - $3M+.
  • Responsible for reviewing assigned project invitations and gathering all information needed to complete a proposal 
  • Clearly communicate with customers in a timely manner (via phone and/or email) to understand project requirements, goals, and post bid questions
  • Understands the current market and works to put together winning, profitable proposals.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Team to pursue and earn projects bid.
  • Once awarded, set up projects for a detailed and successful hand-off to Project Management and Engineering.
  • Have an understanding of standard building construction methods to include AWI guidelines, LEEDS, and FSC requirements.
  • Handle multiple tasks in a deadline orientated environment.
  • Possesses excellent communication, mathematical, and grammar skills.
  • Be engaging and positive with all customer interactions and represent the company and the department with professionalism.
  • Oversee the training of any assigned estimators.
  • Coach the assigned estimators on the areas needing improvement.
  • Be able to balance oversight along with a full workload.
  • Review and audit the proposals of any assigned estimators prior to submission for accuracy, cost, and times. Ownership of these bids is required.
  • Be able to attend scope reviews and job interviews without the need for the Chief Estimator to attend or run the meeting.
  • Once trained, be able to complete your estimates without the need for constant oversight or review of projects under $1 million in value.
  • Aid the department in developing training materials, how to’s, and testing materials as assigned.

🌟 What Makes You a Great Fit:

  • Minimum (10) years of experience in day-to-day millwork estimating. Experience in any other construction or building industry is not an acceptable substitution.
  • Ability to create a takeoff from scratch. Must be able to breakdown millwork into each piece and component and price without the aid of pre-existing formulas.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel. You will be tested live on writing and auditing formulas, navigation, and shortcuts. You must know the algebra formulas for calculating square footage and linear footage. This is an essential part of this position, so this is a pass or fail test.
  • Ability to read architectural blueprints and shop drawings identifying all millwork items.
  • Strong understanding of millwork construction methods; demonstrate continuous education to keep up with changing needs.
  • Experience using Bluebeam required. You will be tested live on navigation, shortcuts, highlighting, slip sheets, stamps, and page extractions.

Job Details

  • 💰 Salary: $90,000 to $110,000 annually, commensurate upon experience.
  • Job Type: Full Time. Shift, Typically Mon- Fri, 40 Hours .(with additional hours as needed).
