Job description

Overview
A building automation company with approximately 130 employees is seeking a full-time Panel Shop Assembler / Wireman for its Suwanee, Georgia facility. This role is responsible for assembling, wiring, and installing components in custom electrical control panels. The Panel Shop Assembler / Wireman will translate engineered layouts, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings into finished products that meet company quality requirements and applicable UL 508A standards.

Location: Suwanee, GA 30024

Schedule: Full-time, onsite, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cut, strip, crimp, route, label, and terminate wires according to electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Drill, tap, and mount subpanels, enclosures, DIN rails, relays, switches, transformers, and other electrical components.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, engineered layouts, and point-to-point wiring diagrams.
  • Assemble custom electrical control panels in accordance with company quality standards and UL 508A requirements.
  • Inspect completed work for accuracy, proper connections, workmanship, and compliance with specifications.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, wire strippers, crimpers, and digital multimeters safely and effectively.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow company safety procedures and applicable OSHA guidelines.
  • Assist with inventory tracking, material handling, and final product packaging as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience and Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and manufacturing drawings. Experience using basic shop hand tools, power tools, wire strippers, crimping tools, and digital multimeters. Ability to perform detailed electrical assembly work accurately and consistently.
  • Physical and Logistical Requirements: Ability to stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive assembly tasks for extended periods during an eight-hour shift. Ability to lift, push, and pull components weighing up to 40 pounds. Reliable transportation to the onsite facility in Suwanee, Georgia.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in electrical wiring, industrial control panel building, or electronic assembly.
  • Familiarity with UL 508A industrial control panel standards.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
