Job description

Position Title: Quality Control Technician

Location: North Kansas City, MO 64116

Employment Type:ย ย  Contract

Shift: Day Shift (standard business hours)

Travel: <20% (occasional site support for commissioning)

Job Summary

MARS Solutions Group is seeking a Quality Control (QC) Technician to support our client, at their Kansas City, MO location. The QC Technician will be responsible for the final inspection, testing, and verification of custom-built electrical control panels in a fast-paced panel shop environment. This individual ensures quality, safety, and compliance with build standards before the product leaves the floor.

Key Responsibilities

Perform electrical testing, inspection, and functional power-up of control panels

Verify BOM (Bill of Materials) and ensure panels are wired and assembled per specifications

Troubleshoot and identify root causes of electrical issues within panels

Document findings and collaborate with engineering/manufacturing teams to resolve issues

Recommend process improvements to enhance build quality and reduce errors

Maintain accurate test records and quality documentation

Occasionally travel to customer sites to assist with startup and commissioning (under 20%)

Basic Qualifications

Foundational knowledge of electrical design and/or control panel wiring

Ability to read and interpret technical documents (e.g., blueprints, wiring diagrams)

Comfortable working with tools, meters, and testing equipment

Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams)

Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Detail-oriented and quality-focused

โ€ขAbility to work under tight deadlines and occasional off-hours support

Preferred Qualifications

Associateโ€™s or Technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field

Hands-on experience with industrial control panels or control systems

Knowledge of Rockwell Automation and Siemens platforms

Understanding of NEC, UL508A standards, and LOTO safety practices

AutoCAD proficiency (reading/editing schematics)

Experience troubleshooting electrical faults and documenting resolutions

Familiarity with ladder logic, pneumatic systems, and mechanical sequencing
