Job description

BADGING SUPERVISOR

2nd Shift: 03:30 p.m. to 02:00 a.m. Monday Thru Thursday

SUMMARY:

The primary function of this position, is to supervise all Drip Mold and ChroMax operators and activity relating to the Drip Mold Department including scheduling materials and supplies required in the department by performing the following duties;


DUTIES:

  • Inspect printed products to verify conformance to specifications and direct set up and adjustments of equipment
  • Review production schedules and estimate time required to complete printing jobs
  • Interpret and enforce company policies, safety and health regulations and hazardous waste regulations
  • Review job orders and assign jobs to qualified personnel
  • Establish or adjust work hours to meet production schedules
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and print quality
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, and assists subordinates in solving work problems
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve established goals
  • Maintain timekeeping system on employees
  • Maintain production records
  • Confer with other department supervisors, or lead persons, to coordinate activities of the departments involved
  • Perform duties of operators supervised when necessary
  • Interview, hire and train employees
  • Complete written performance appraisals and meet with employees to suggest areas needing improvement and acknowledge areas where employee is achieving or exceeding objectives. Recommend wage adjustments
  • Administer disciplinary action, when necessary, with the cooperation of the Production Manager
  • Be familiar with and apply all aspects of the ISO Quality System that pertains to the Drip Mold Dept.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor


QUALIFICATIONS: Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Basic math, reading, and computer skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Experience Preferred/Required: Kromax, DeMak, and LCC experience

  • Language Skills: Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general information pertaining to the job. Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, and be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and other employees.
  • Reasoning Ability: Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Must have the ability to apply information and variables learned from one task or project to other similar situations.


EQUIPMENT USED:

Drip Mold (doming) machinery, computer, printers, calculator, telephone, copier, fax, and other equipment as needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate


EXTENT OF AUTHORITY:

  • Supervises: Operators
  • Has the authority to prioritize work and to recommend overtime to alleviate backlog
  • Has the authority to grant/approve subordinates’ PTO, etc.
  • Has the authority to implement disciplinary measures, up to and including termination of employment, with Product Manager’s approval.
