Major PPP Infrastructure Project | Multi-Billion Dollar Program

Salary: Highly Competitive + Executive Benefits Package + Long-Term Career Development

Our client is one of North America's leading Tier 1 contractors, renowned for delivering some of the world's most complex and transformative infrastructure projects. Due to continued growth and the award of a landmark multi-billion-dollar Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project, they are seeking an exceptional Senior Design Manager to join their leadership team in Atlanta, Georgia.

This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in the delivery of a nationally significant infrastructure program that will leave a lasting legacy for future generations.

The Opportunity

As Senior Design Manager, you will lead the design management function across a major design-build infrastructure project, ensuring the successful coordination, integration, and delivery of multidisciplinary engineering and design activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Working closely with executive leadership, construction teams, consultants, clients, and stakeholders, you will drive design excellence while ensuring programme, cost, quality, safety, and technical objectives are achieved.

This position offers significant visibility within the organisation and the opportunity to contribute to one of the largest infrastructure investments currently underway in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of design delivery across the project.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering and design teams including external consultants and joint venture partners.
  • Drive design integration between civil, structural, transportation, utilities, systems, and construction disciplines.
  • Ensure designs are delivered in accordance with contractual requirements, project schedules, budget constraints, and quality standards.
  • Manage design risk, technical assurance processes, and change management procedures.
  • Provide strategic leadership throughout design development, value engineering, and construction phases.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with owners, concessionaires, public agencies, regulatory authorities, and key stakeholders.
  • Support procurement, construction planning, and delivery teams with technical expertise and design solutions.
  • Monitor design performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop design management professionals within the project team.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking an accomplished infrastructure professional with a proven track record delivering large-scale transportation, civil, or infrastructure projects in a design-build or PPP environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience within major infrastructure or transportation projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary design teams on projects exceeding $500M in value.
  • Strong understanding of Design-Build, Alternative Delivery, and PPP project models.
  • Experience working on highways, bridges, transit, rail, aviation, water, or other complex infrastructure programs.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capabilities.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery risk.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.

Why Join?

  • Opportunity to work on one of the largest infrastructure projects in North America.
  • Join a market-leading Tier 1 contractor with an outstanding project portfolio.
  • Long-term project security and career progression opportunities.
  • Collaborative, high-performance project environment.
  • Competitive salary, annual bonus, comprehensive healthcare, retirement plans, and relocation support where required.
  • Chance to help shape a landmark project that will transform regional infrastructure for decades to come.

If you are an experienced Design Management leader seeking a career-defining opportunity on a flagship infrastructure program, we would like to hear from you.
