Our mission is to help people with disabilities live life to the fullest - with dignity, choice, and community inclusion.Position SummaryThe CNA/Program Assistant plays a vital dual role in supporting the medical and programmatic needs of participants in The League's Adult Medical Day and Day Programs. This position blends hands-on personal care with engaging, person-centered activities to promote health, independence, and social connection. The CNA/Program Assistant works closely with nursing staff, program coordinators, and other team members to ensure participants receive compassionate care in a supportive, stimulating environment.Key ResponsibilitiesMedical & Personal Care (CNA Duties)Assist participants with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, feeding, and mobility support.Monitor and record vital signs, weight, and other health indicators as directed by nursing staff.Support medication administration processes under the supervision of licensed nurses.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment following infection control and safety protocols.Observe, document, and report changes in participant condition promptly to nursing staff.Program & Activity Support (Program Assistant Duties)Facilitate and assist with recreational, educational, and social activities tailored to participant abilities and interests.Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and encourage participation in group and community activities.Assist in transporting participants to and from activities, including wheelchair transfers and mobility support.Foster a respectful, inclusive environment that promotes independence, dignity, and choice.Collaborate with the program team to adapt activities and materials for diverse abilities.QualificationsRequired:Current Maryland CNA certification in good standing.High school diploma or equivalent.Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain prior to employment).Ability to lift, transfer, and provide mobility assistance to participants (up to 50 lbs with assistance).Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with individuals with diverse disabilities.Preferred:Previous experience in an adult day program, long-term care, or disability services environment.Knowledge of adaptive equipment and person-centered care approaches.Schedule Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, daytime hours (no evenings, weekends, or holidays).
