Program Specialist - Full-Time
Are you passionate about empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities? St. Joseph's Center, a compassionate nonprofit organization dedicated to serving individuals with diverse needs, is seeking a full-time Program Specialist for our Adult Day Program located at our Main Center campus in Scranton. This position plays a critical role in developing, using, and monitoring personal services and supports for program participants, ensuring a safe, engaging, and person-centered environment.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop, use, and monitor personal service plans (ISPs) for up to 30 participants.
  • Ensure follow with PA 2380 regulations and organizational policies.
  • Coordinate and supervise Program Assistants, including specialized training related to health and safety needs.
  • Complete assessments and share results prior to ISP meetings; attend initial, annual, and revision ISP meetings.
  • Create age-appropriate, functional outcomes and review progress quarterly.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and data collection for all services and supports.
  • Assist with personal care and therapeutic needs as required.
  • Collaborate with team teams, outside agencies, and families.
  • Administer medications upon completion of PA Certified Medication Administration Course; review medication logs and records.
  • Participate in staff meetings, fire drills, and required annual training (minimum 24 hours).
  • Maintain program materials and ensure a safe, positive environment for participants and staff.

What's Required of You:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Valid PA Driver's License.
  • Ability to lift/move items over 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as squatting, bending, and kneeling.
  • Willingness to complete Certified Medication Administration training and other certifications as needed (e.g., CPR Instructor, Certified Investigator).
