Position: Community Support Worker // Direct Support Professional
Locations: Bedford, MA

Salary: $20.60/Hour until fully trained, $21.63/Hour fully trained. We will train!
Scheduled Hours: M-F 8am-4pm

Walnut Street Center is a nonprofit human service agency that provides support services to adults with Intellectual Disabilities, assisting them in living engaged and meaningful lives: opportunities to live, work, volunteer, and socialize within the community.

Who we are looking for:
Seeking qualified Direct Support Professionals to work full-time directly with adults with intellectual disabilities in our Day Program in Bedford, MA.

The Job Responsibilities:

  • Assisting individuals with Activities of Daily Living such as feeding, dressing, toileting and other aspects of personal care, and nutritional needs
  • Providing individuals with supports to ensure access to community activities
  • Assisting with maintenance of environment
  • Participating in the development, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of Individual Service Plan or Day Habilitation Plan goals which focus on building skills and increasing independence
  • Providing therapeutic support and assisting in the implementation of Behavior Support Plans, if appropriate
  • Transporting individuals
  • Medication Administration

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive
  • Ability to pass a driving and background check
  • COVID-19 Vaccine Card
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to complete training both online and in person

Preferred:

  • Previous human services or long-term care experience strongly preferred
  • CNA/HHA/Community Support Worker experience preferred
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
