We are looking to add a full-time teammate in Richmond, VA to join our team as Beekeeping & Field Operations support. Supervisors: Lead Beekeeper, Account Manager Location: Richmond, VA About Bee Downtown:

Bee Downtown is a Forbes and INC Magazine 30 Under 30 startup based out of Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina with beehives and corporate hive programs in cities across the United States. At Bee Downtown we believe in the power of using sustainable beekeeping and urban agriculture to help reshape how people think and live within our environment. The Bee Downtown Corporate Hive Program installs and maintains beehives in cities and semi-urban environments to support the cultivation of healthy honeybee populations while simultaneously providing year-round employee engagement and kinetic programming to our partners and their employees. The second division of Bee Downtown is the BDT Leadership Institute, a leader development institute for corporations and their employees based in Biomimicry, created to teach about effective leadership through the mindset of a hive.

Job Description:

The Bee Downtown Beekeeping and Field Operations Support is a part-time job averaging anywhere from 10-20 hours per week. The Bee Downtown Beekeeping and Field Operations Support works closely with the Bee Downtown beekeepers in their area, helping with basic beekeeping tasks and duties, the Account Manager, and the rest of the Bee Downtown team to keep the warehouse organized, all equipment cleaned and prepped to be ready for use at all times, respond to teammate requests, and to aid in organizational and work tasks needed by the beekeepers and the office team. Responsibilities of the Beekeeping and Field Operations Support will include: Maintenance of Bee Downtown beehives on partner sites General maintenance at customer sites like cutting grass, mixing sugar feed/feeding bees, installing signage, repairing fencing, etc. Pick-up/drop-off of materials Caring for tools and equipment/setting up the organization of the tools and equipment areas Creating and maintaining inventory documents

Required Skills:

Valid Driver's License and good driving record Ability to troubleshoot many and varied problems with bees, general hive maintenance, and apiary excellences Woodworking: basic level of understanding of woodworking and the machinery/tools associated with it A demonstrated ability to be a team player Has excellent organization skills, can keep storage facilities safe and organized, and shows respect through diligent care of equipment Willingness to switch gears quickly and do whatever tasks are needed at the given time. Comfortable working around bees and agriculture (experience with beekeeping required) A great attitude Accountable for making sure goals and needs are being met, while not compromising the quality of work An independent thinker and worker, comfortable working autonomously, understanding what needs to be done and prioritizing it accordingly Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly Ability to walk/stand at least 7.5 hours a day

Desired Skills:

Proficient in email, spreadsheet creation, general understanding of Google Drive Able to help with general partner programming and tabling events Beekeeping experience and a willingness to learn about Bee Downtown's beekeeping practices. Enthusiastic and goal-oriented Great verbal communication skills, able to speak honestly and easily with all teammates
