  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams and clients across regions

What You'll Bring:

Required:

  • Technical diploma in environmental sciences, environmental engineering, or related field

  • 3+ years of experience in the resource development industry, particularly oil and gas and/or within British Columbia (BC)

  • Understanding of federal and BC provincial environmental permitting and regulatory frameworks related to oil and gas, renewable energy, transportation, and/or related developments

  • Familiarity with project management approaches, field planning/coordination, and progress reporting

  • Ability to conduct independent validation and quality control of permitting datasets or reports authored by others

  • Excellent writing, communication, organization, attention to detail, and time management skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and proven ability to learn online applications (e.g., Smartsheets, Power BI, SharePoint-based tools)

  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with multiple clients

  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently as needed

  • Strong commitment to safety, including adherence to established health and safety protocols

  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace

  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship

Preferred:

  • Bachelor degree in environmental sciences, environmental engineering, or related field

  • Prior experience in environmental consulting, industry, or government

  • Experience with projects regulated by BC Environmental Assessment Office, BC Energy Regulator, or Canadian Energy Regulator in pre-construction or construction phases

  • Experience working with Indigenous groups, communities, and stakeholders

  • Familiarity with permitting processes across multiple sectors (mining, oil and gas, renewable energy, transportation)

  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of key project deliverables, including:

    • Oversight and review of permitting and compliance deliverables prepared by others (e.g., identifying gaps and quality control issues)

    • Development of environmental and social management plans and associated documents (e.g., field guides, compliance plans)

    • Permit applications and associated documentation

  • Conduct technical writing and regulatory research

  • Integrate subject matter expert input from ERM's specialists and qualified professionals
