The Opportunity:

As a Project Controls Engineering Student, you will be a part of the Oil Sands Estimating team and will assist in the support of asset life cycle cost data management. You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge of cost estimation, database, and benchmarking development. Reporting to the Manager of Estimating, you will be working with cost data of Downstream and Upstream Oil Sand Major Facilities.

  • Job location:ย Calgary, Alberta - Head Office
  • Work schedule:ย 5 days on, 2 days off, 8 hours per day (Monday - Friday)
  • Term start & length:ย January (12 months) or May (4 or 8 months)
  • Safety sensitive position:ย Yes

Key Accountabilities:

  • Data analysis and normalization
  • Database development and organization
  • Probability and statistical analysis
  • Develop key metrics for use in conceptual estimating and benchmarking
  • Labor productivity analysis
  • Maintenance of estimating tools and templates

What You Bring to The Role:

  • Currently enrolled in Bachelor of Construction Management preferred. Engineering disciplines may also be considered
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Good knowledge of the basics of statistics and analytical skills
  • Good understanding of cost data analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
