Job description

Morfologica, Inc. has multiple openings as Database Administrator and Database Architect to support established software teams at Federal Facilities throughout multiple locations in the Northern Virginia area:

ONLY CANDIDATES WITH ACTIVE GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCES AND APPROPRIATE POLY WILL BE CONSIDERED.

Active clearance with appropriate polygraph

The Database Administrator (DBA) works with software and determines ways to organize and store data.

The ideal candidate will identify user requirements, set up computer databases, test and coordinate modifications to the computer database systems.   The DBA will also ensure the performance of the system, understand the platform on which the database runs, and add new users to the system. Other activities may include planning and coordination of security measures, data integrity, backup systems, and database security.

Some of the tasks to be performed include:

  • Work with software and determine ways to organize and store data, identify user requirements, set up computer databases, and test and coordinate modifications to the computer database systems.
  • Ensure best performance of the system, understand the platform(s) on which the database runs and add new users to the system.
  • Plan and coordinate security measures, data-integrity, backup systems, database security and related measures.
  • Provide technical expertise in the use of DBMS and evaluate/recommend available products to support validated user requirements.
  • Manage the development of database projects and, when necessary, plan, budget and staff resources accordingly to maximize benefits.
  • Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
  • Provide, when necessary, support to IT systems to include day-to-day operations and problem troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Provide necessary support for the escalation and communication of status to program management staff and internal customers.
  • Coordinate changes to databases, test and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems.
  • Conduct ad-hoc advanced analysis of output and performance.
