Job Summary:
Trinity Health MI is a healthcare organization dedicated to improving patient care. They are seeking a Database Manager Architect I who will be responsible for the design, administration, and development of a multi-source data warehouse to support business intelligence and analytics.
Responsibilities:
• Designs, administers, and maintains data warehouse:
• Responsible for the ETL processes; Manipulates, cleans, loads data from internal and external sources; Tests and maintains data integrity across multiple databases with edit checks; Develops and maintains framework for adding additional data sources into warehouse.
• Maintains database server integrity and security.
• Develops new processes for the warehouse to optimize the existing data; implements new database and online technology from time to time; improves efficiency of existing database systems by utilizing keys and indexes.
• Audits, modifies, and updates data in systems using processes such as SAS, SQL commands, hand-editing, and bulk import.
• Develops and enforces database and user standards and procedures.
• Schedules database projects, transaction log backups, and notifications.
• Works with TIS, home office, external organizations for efficient and accurate data management.
• Maintains the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patients, physicians, employees, and visitors to Trinity Health Michigan.
• Collaborates with staff on database projects:
• Collaborates with the team and participates in team meetings/project meetings to determine user requirements.
• Reviews technical designs, reports, documentation, and other materials produced by staff.
• Assists team members in the development and creation of SQL and Web-based databases and database systems.
• Works closely with physicians and hospital staff to determine their information needs.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a database environment (SQL Server preferred) with significant responsibilities.
• Demonstrated understanding of current data structures, database theory and database administration concepts.
• Proficient with MSSQL Server 2018 or higher, Oracle or similar, stored procedures, importing/exporting data, back up/restoring databases, triggers.
• Knowledge of FTP and ODBC Connectivity.
• Familiarity with basic retrieval, security and back-up.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Timely and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to set and organize own work priorities and adapt to them as they change frequently.
• Must be able to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles.
Preferred:
• Knowledge of SAS, Bases SAS, SAS macros, INTRNET, ACCESS, CONNECT strongly preferred.
• Business Objects, Desktop Intelligence, Web Intelligence preferred.
• HL7 experience preferred.
• Experience working in the healthcare industry preferred.
• Certification in Microsoft SQL server preferred.
