You as a Database Administrator will: 

  • Collaborate closely with application developers and QA team members to architect robust solutions for application hosting on cloud platforms. 
  • Design, deploy, and manage cloud-native and managed databases such as MySQL DB and Atlas MongoDB. 
  • Develop and enhance high-availability, disaster recovery, and replication strategies that align with the organization’s business risk tolerance. 
  • Optimize query performance, indexing strategies, storage tiers, and cost to ensure efficient database operations. 
  • Lead database upgrades, migrations, and security patch implementations with minimal disruption, taking ownership of the end-to-end architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance of enterprise database platforms. 
  • Establish and enforce database standards, best practices, and operational runbooks to maintain consistency and quality across all systems. 
  • Oversee and audit security, access controls, encryption, and compliance requirements, including SOC2 and internal controls, to ensure regulatory adherence and data protection. 
  • Automate database and backup operations using Infrastructure as Code and scripting to Integrate database lifecycle and backup visibility into CI/CD and monitoring platforms 

This is the right role if you:  

  • A bachelor’s or master's degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or related field. 
  • At least 8 years of full-time experience in the software engineering industry, including hands-on roles in database administration and architecture. 
  • Proven skill to earn the trust of business stakeholders by proactively initiating, leading, and successfully delivering complex projects and new business initiatives. 
  • Extensive DBA experience managing and optimizing enterprise databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, Oracle, and PostgreSQL, with a track record of implementing robust solutions for high-demand environments. 
  • Expertise in query optimization, data partitioning, indexing strategies, and database replication, PII data Encryption coupled with a deep understanding of distributed NoSQL systems—including eventual consistency and advanced scalability models. 
  • Demonstrated experience configuring and maintaining enterprise cloud backup solutions, regularly conducting disaster recovery drills to ensure uninterrupted business operations and compliance. 
  • Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform—Azure, GCP, or AWS. 
  • Hands-on expertise in server administration and system monitoring across Linux and Windows platforms, ensuring secure, efficient, and reliable database operations, with proficiency in scripting and automation. 
  • Ability to translate business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions, clearly articulating trade-offs and technical considerations to stakeholders. 
  • The salary range for this role is $60 - $90 per hour. 

Nice to Have: 

  • Intermediate certification in Azure, GCP, or AWS cloud technologies. 
  • Agile team experience with Scrum and Kanban software delivery. 
  • Proficient in Datadog/Splunk/Grafana monitoring tools. 
  • Familiar with HashiCorp Vault and Boundary for secure access management. 
  • Knowledge of IaC tools like Crossplane or ArgoCD. 
  • Experience with SOC2 and ISO audit processes.
