Job Description Job Title: Database Administrator II (Oracle / SQL Server / PostgreSQL) Location: Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid - 3 days onsite, 2 days remote) Duration: 12 Month Contract Overview We are seeking a Database Administrator II to support critical Operational Technology (OT) systems, including SCADA and nuclear environments. This role is responsible for managing and maintaining enterprise database platforms while ensuring performance, reliability, and security across mission-critical infrastructure. You will work in a collaborative team environment supporting ongoing projects and day-to-day database operations, with exposure to a wide range of technologies and high-impact systems.

Key Responsibilities Administer and support multiple database platforms, including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB Perform performance tuning, patching, database builds, and upgrades Manage backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability Develop and maintain automation scripts using KornShell and PowerShell Monitor systems, respond to alerts, and proactively resolve issues Manage and fulfill requests through ServiceNow Collaborate with application support teams and project stakeholders on ongoing initiatives (e.g., system upgrades) Participate in on-call rotation (every 4 weeks, 7-day coverage) Required Qualifications 5-7 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator Strong experience with: Oracle Microsoft SQL Server PostgreSQL MariaDB Expertise in performance tuning, patching, and database builds Experience with backup and recovery strategies Scripting experience with: KornShell (Unix/Linux environments) PowerShell (Windows environments) Experience using ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems Preferred Qualifications Experience in utility, SCADA, or operational technology (OT) environments Familiarity with highly regulated or critical infrastructure systems Microsoft or Oracle certifications (e.g., OCP) Additional experience with automation tools and scripting frameworks Work Environment & Team Collaborative team of 5 DBAs Supportive, transparent, and team-oriented culture Interaction with internal stakeholders across application and infrastructure teams Office-based role with no physical or fieldwork risks Work Schedule Standard 40-hour workweek (Monday-Friday) Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote On-call rotation every 4 weeks (7-day coverage)
