About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and secure our enterprise database environment across on-premises and cloud platforms. This role is responsible for relational and non-relational database systems, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and reliability across multiple technologies including Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL.
The ideal candidate combines strong operational database administration experience with database development, performance tuning, and cross-team collaboration skills.
Responsibilities include:
  • Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Microsoft SQL Server and related technologies.
  • Manage and maintain enterprise database environments across on-premises and cloud platforms (including Azure).
  • Administer Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL databases.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain SSIS packages and support SSRS where applicable.
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning and optimization strategies.
  • Design and develop database solutions to support business applications, OLTP systems, OLAP systems, and data warehouse environments.
  • Support Kafka-based data streaming and integration workflows.
  • Implement and maintain database security, including user/role management and integration with Active Directory.
  • Perform database maintenance, backups, recovery planning, and restore operations in coordination with the Network Operations Center.
  • Conduct database capacity planning and ensure high availability.
  • Analyze and review database components of vendor software packages.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues (Tier 2 / Tier 3 support).
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call support as needed.
  • Provide consultation and deployment support for Technology Design and Development teams.
  • Create and maintain database documentation, standards, and best practices.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in Database Administration.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2012 – current versions).
  • Proven experience with SSIS package development and deployment.
  • Strong database tuning and performance optimization skills.
  • Experience administering MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with Kafka for data streaming and integration.
  • Experience with backup/recovery strategies and high-availability configurations.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Preferred
  • MCITP (Database Administrator) or similar certification(s).
  • Experience designing and maintaining data warehouses, OLTP, and OLAP systems.
  • Experience with Azure cloud database technologies.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-level, multi-instance environments.
