The JCO Development and Sustainment contract will provide rapid capability development and operational readiness leveraging industry best-practices and innovative solutions to ensure Joint Cyber Command and Control (JCC2) meets operational requirements and matures existing government owned software in an efficient and effective manner. The purpose of the JCO effort is to provide Joint Cyber Command and Control (JCC2) Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Agile software development and maintenance/sustainment support deployment of capabilities through application releases, containerization, integration, and data engineering work.

The Sr. Database Engineer designs, develops, implements, and maintains enterprise database management systems that support mission-critical applications. This includes database architecture, relational database design, data modeling, metadata repository creation, and configuration management to ensure scalable and efficient data environments.

In this role, you will leverage data mapping, data mining, and transformation tools to analyze requirements and develop optimized database solutions. You will determine appropriate data storage strategies, including capacity planning and optimization, while supporting end-to-end system and process analysis throughout database implementation.

You will evaluate and select appropriate technology components—including software, hardware, and networking capabilities to support database and application environments. You will also develop, tune, and optimize SQL queries to ensure performance and scalability across systems.

In addition, you will implement backup and recovery strategies as well as database replication solutions to ensure data integrity, availability, and resilience in production environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in support of assigned technical tasks and program objectives.
  • Apply analytical skills to support process improvement efforts, specialized studies, and requirements development activities.
  • Conduct analysis and planning activities to support the development of requirements, functional models, system procedures, and functional architectures, as well as other related technical and management deliverables.

You MUST have:

  • A DoD TS clearance is required; DoD TS/SCI preferred.
  • 10 years of combined experience in each of the following for relational and cloud-based databases:
    • Database development and software engineering/development;
    • Database Design and Data Modeling;
    • Requirements analysis/generation;
    • Developing systems and software architectures
  • 5 years of experience working with Enterprise DB.
  • 7 years of experience with PostgreSQL.

It’s GREAT if you also have:

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining automated installation scripts.
  • Demonstrated experience developing database solutions in a multi-tiered environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required + 10 years’ experience OR Master’s degree in related field + 8 years’ experience
