Description
EECM is seeking a strategic, relationship-centered Development Manager to cultivate and steward a portfolio of donors capable of making transformational investments in EECM's mission.
This position starts with a salary between $60,000 - $65,000 (based on experience and qualifications) and plays a crucial role in expanding individual giving, strengthening major donor partnerships, advancing planned giving endowment opportunities, and supporting the organization's long-term financial sustainability.
The Development Manager reports to the Director of Development, as well as working closely with the President/ CEO, and leadership team to strengthen donor engagement, develop funding opportunities, and secure leadership-level gifts that support EECM's work in food security, housing stability, workforce development, recovery support, and family stabilization.
Essential Responsibilities
I. Fundraising and Portfolio Management
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 100 to 150 donor prospects through strategic cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and relationship management efforts.
- Meet or exceed annual fundraising and engagement goals, including securing leadership-level gifts ranging from $25,000 to $250,000+.
- Increase donor level of support with multi-year commitments, planned giving, conversations, and endowment initiatives.
- Maintain consistent donor engagement through in-person meetings, virtual meetings, phone calls, written correspondence, site visits, EECM events, and community engagement opportunities.
- Lead the execution of special events, gift solicitation, prospective donor qualifications, and donor retention.
II. Strategic Engagement and Collaboration
- Implement donor briefing materials, contact reports, presentations, gift agreements, and donor correspondence in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of donor activity and gift commitments within EECM's CRM and donor management systems.
- Collaborate closely with the President/CEO and Director of Development to strengthen donor engagement and fundraising outcomes.
- Support relationship building, donor outreach, and stewardship activities.
- Oversee interns throughout their entire internship experience.
III. Events and Stewardship Initiatives
- Support the planning and execution of donor-cultivation events, fundraising initiatives, stewardship experiences, and community engagement opportunities that elevate awareness of EECM's mission and impact.
2. Partner with senior staff to strengthen donor-centered storytelling and mission-driven messaging.
IV. Office and Organizational Support
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the President/ CEO and Director of Development to support EECM's priorities, organizational growth, and mission advancement.
Position Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in major gifts, nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, and relationship-focused development, with demonstrated success cultivating and securing significant charitable investments by donors.
- Proficiency with donor databases (Salesforce, Raiser's Edge NXT, Network for Good preferred), digital tools, and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, are required.
- Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, attention to detail, ethical judgement, and commitment to working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred qualifications include experience working with leadership level donors, familiarity with planned giving strategies, and knowledge of standard fundraising methodologies and donor stewardship practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Public Relations, or a related field is required.
- Master's degree is preferred.
