Description

The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking an Events & Development Manager to join the Marketing & Development Team. The Events & Development Manager is an integral and central part of the office, working with all areas of the department. This position carries out responsibilities within the following functional areas: Fundraising including but not limited to: Event Planning and Logistics, Donor Research, Donor Cultivation and Solicitation efforts; Fundraising, Appeals, Giving Clubs, and Data Analysis.


This position is responsible for managing The Children's Home's fundraising events, including third-party events, cultivation events and the annual fundraising gala. They are responsible to steward corporate and individual gifts of all levels, including planned and major gifts, and will foster donor relations.


The Events & Development Manager reports to the Director of Development and is a member of the Marketing and Development Department team that also includes a Programs Relation Manager, Grant Writer, Database Coordinator, Digital Media Specialist, and Volunteer & Donation Coordinator. This position works collaboratively with the Marketing and Development Department and members of the organization's senior management team. This position has regular interaction with donors, volunteers, and members of the organization's Board of Directors.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Fundraising, Marketing, Information Technology, or related field.

2. Minimum of two (2) years of donor database management experience required; expertise using Donor Perfect preferred.

3. Experience working for a non-profit organization is required

4. Experience with data input/output, maintenance, management and analysis

5. Genuine interest in the organization's mission

6. Excellent organizational skills

7. Function with a high-level of detail

8. Strong critical thinking skills, technical leadership, and proficiency

10. Advanced working knowledge of MS office, strong Excel skills required

11. Understanding of principles and strategies of philanthropy

12. Excellent oral and written communication skills

13. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

14. Ability to take initiative and to work independently, exercise good judgment, and act diplomatically

15. Demonstrated ability to work successfully both independently and with a strong team in a collaborative environment
