Job description

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in MongoDB Administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering, securing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise MongoDB environments while collaborating with development and DevOps teams to deliver reliable, high-performing database solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration

  • Administer, monitor, and support MongoDB databases hosted in Microsoft Azure.
  • Design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure MongoDB environments.
  • Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and capacity planning.
  • Perform database upgrades, migrations, patching, backup, and recovery activities.
  • Implement and maintain high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production database issues.
  • Establish database monitoring, alerting, and operational best practices.
  • Ensure database security, authentication, authorization, and compliance with organizational standards.

Application & DevOps Collaboration

  • Collaborate with application development teams using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Support database integration for REST APIs and microservices-based applications.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline implementation for database deployments and schema changes.
  • Assist with automation, scripting, and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives.
  • Support release management and production deployments.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Have

  • 8+ years of Database Administration experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering MongoDB.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • MongoDB Atlas
    • Replica Sets
    • Sharding
    • Performance Tuning
    • Query Optimization
    • Backup & Recovery
    • High Availability & Disaster Recovery
    • Capacity Planning
    • Security, Authentication, and Authorization
  • Experience managing MongoDB workloads in Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical production database environments.

Preferred Skills

  • 4+ years of experience with:
    • Java
    • Spring Boot
    • REST APIs
    • Microservices Architecture
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Git.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Scripting and automation using Shell, Python, or similar technologies.
