Job description

**ACTIVE TS/SCI SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED**

D2 has an immediateย  need for a PostgreSQL Database Architect to analyze, design, develop, implement, and support database infrastructure deployment and management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of servers running on one or more operating systems
  • Maintains database integrity and security, configures role-based access control (RBAC), and sets up administrative accounts
  • Sets up, administers, and services accounts
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, standards, and procedures
  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
  • Develops and implements testing strategies and document results
  • Provides advice on performance tuning and training to end-users
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned
  • Evaluates open-source or vendor tools and participates in database migration/special modernization projects
  • Collaborates with developers on schema design, query optimization, and stored procedures
  • Plans and executes database upgrades, patching, and migrations
  • Ensures compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
  • 5+ years of related database analysis and/or administration experience
  • PostgreSQL experience required. Oracle database administration is a plus
  • Experience in PostgreSQL administration/tuning; including knowledge and implementation of database high-availability solutions and performance tuning
  • Experience in monitoring, creating, and managing PostgreSQL server agent alerts
  • Experience with database backup, restore, migration, and database snapshot technologies/strategies
  • Knowledge on how to build/maintain efficient database table structures for both transactional and warehouse data
  • Migration experience with Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL,
  • TS/SCI clearance

  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent

What to Expect Day-to-Day

You'll work with moderate autonomy - trusted to manage your workload and make good technical decisions without someone looking over your shoulder. You'll collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams, advise end-users on best practices, and participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.
