Engineering - Database Architect/Engineer | Huntsville, Alabama, United States Engineering - Database Architect/Engineer - Lockheed Martin Space Location: Huntsville, AL, 35805, United States About the Role Join Lockheed Martin Space and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of space technology and security. As a Database Architect/Engineer supporting the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) Program, you'll work within our Operations & Sustainment (O&S) Product Support/Logistics team. This position centers on the development, maintenance, and advancement of SLICwave Life Cycle (SLICwave LC), an enterprise-wide relational database crucial for Integrated Product Support (IPS) and logistics management in the aerospace and defense sectors. Collaborate with top-tier professionals, drive innovation, and impact projects that connect and protect our world. Responsibilities - Partner with the Logistics Product Data (LPD) team to develop Logistics Support Analyses (LSA), Logistics Product Data, and Logistics Operational Risk Analyses (LORA) for government deliverables. - Create and maintain catalog and provisioning data by interpreting technical data packages and engineering drawings for precise product representation. - Generate and manage GEIA-STD-007 compliance reports and provisioning Bills of Materials to support O&S activities. - Integrate cross-functional architecture by working closely with hardware and software engineers, ensuring SLICwave accurately reflects supply chain, line-replaceable units (LRUs), and field-spare requirements. - Continually enhance database processes and documentation to support program goals and compliance standards. Required Skills and Experience - Minimum 15 years of hands-on experience as a Database Architect/Engineer within aerospace, defense, or manufacturing sectors. - Extensive expertise with enterprise relational databases, including development, maintenance, and data integrity management. - Strong background in logistics product data, cataloging, provisioning, and GEIA-STD-007 reporting. - Proficiency in interpreting technical data packages and engineering drawings for database and logistical applications. - Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams. Preferred Skills - Prior experience with SLICwave Life Cycle (SLICwave LC) or similar IPS/logistics management databases. - Familiarity with Integrated Product Support (IPS) processes in aerospace or defense programs. - In-depth understanding of supply chain management for line-replaceable units (LRUs) and field spares.
