Job description

Job title: DBA /Engineer

Duration – 6 Months

DB management On-prem

Banking domain

ETL Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain automated Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines to move data from diverse sources into central warehouses.
SQL Development & Optimization: Write complex queries, stored procedures, and triggers, while performing performance tuning to ensure fast and efficient data retrieval.
Data Transformation: Clean, validate, and restructure raw data into consistent, high-quality formats that meet business reporting requirements.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor job execution, resolve errors, and investigate pipeline failures to ensure data reliability

Key Responsibilities

Administer and maintain databases (DB2 z/OS, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Netezza)

Monitor performance, troubleshoot incidents, and perform root-cause analysis

Manage backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery

Perform installations, upgrades, patching, and performance tuning

Enforce database security, compliance, and data integrity

Automate DBA tasks using scripting (Python, Shell, PowerShell)

Support deployments, migrations, and on-call operations

Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams

Experience & Skills

Up to 6 years of DBA experience

Strong knowledge of performance tuning, HA/DR, and security

Experience with scripting, Agile methodologies, and distributed systems

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field

Preferred

Cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL)

Monitoring/observability tools

Data modeling, NoSQL, or big data exposure
