**Job Title: DBA** **Terms:** 6 Month Contract **Work Schedule:** Hybrid - Des Moines, IA (local candidates preferred) ** Skills:** - Minimum of 4 years of strong and relevant experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator, specifically for large scale applications. - Extensive experience with AWS RDS Postgres, including setup, configuration, and management. - Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, configuration, and administration. - Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience developing and reviewing complex PL/pgSQL functions, procedures, and other database objects. - Extensive experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques. - Proficiency in SQL and PL/pgSQL programming. - Familiarity with database security best practices. - Experience with backup and recovery strategies. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Flexibility in working hours to support global teams and critical database operations. - Experience in production system monitoring and incident management processes. - Must provide after-hours on-call support. - Experience in designing database schemas, access patterns, and locking strategies. - Experience in conducting performance analysis and capacity planning. - Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Bitbucket, Bamboo, Github, Jenkins).
