You as a Senior Project Accountant will:

  • You will be a lead member of the Project Accounting team responsible for the supervision of 2 or more direct reports.

  • Responsible for facilitating the accurate and timely reporting of project cost and revenue.

  • Support Operations with the timely development of the project CBS.

  • Enter and maintain project data. (Budgets, forecasts, qty's, cost codes, etc.)

  • Produce variance reporting (Cost Accruals, Revenue Accruals, Budget Moves, Quantity Claiming, etc.)

  • Understand key contractual information relating to assigned projects.

  • Support Operations with the development of accurate and timely cash flow forecasts.

  • Collaborate with Operations and the General Accounting team to ensure accuracy of Month End Reporting.

  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to provide project insights for decision-making.

  • Other tasks as assigned.

Is this the right role for you?

  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant accounting experience preferably for a Civil self-perform construction company.

  • Degree/Diploma in a related field.AACE accreditation(s) considered an asset (e.g. CCT, CPP).

  • Demonstrated experience with a variety of contract types (Unit Rate, Cost-Reimbursable, T&M (LEMS), Provisional Sums, Lump Sum).

  • You have the ability to correctly identify financial situations and produce logical solutions to support a project team/business area.

  • You possess strong computer skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Experience with Explorer Eclipse ERP and B2W Estimate/Track software is an asset

  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)

  • You demonstrate strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills as well as a keen willingness to work independently and on-site at project locations.

  • You demonstrate the ability to work under pressure with attention to detail and can manage tight deadlines.
