Job description

We are looking for a Senior Power BI Lead with extensive enterprise BI, Reporting and Project Leadership experience to join our team.


This role blends hands-on expertise with technical leadership, guiding a team while shaping best practices across semantic modeling, report development, and deployment.


You will act as a key bridge between business intelligence and data engineering, ensuring reporting requirements are translated into scalable, well-modeled data solutions. This is a highly collaborative role working across multiple projects, partnering with data engineers, designers, and stakeholders.


Technical Leadership & Mentorship


  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of Power BI developers
  • Establish and enforce best practices for Power BI development, including PBIX management, performance optimization, and maintainability
  • Conduct code reviews and provide ongoing technical guidance


Power BI Development & Modeling


  • Own and evolve Power BI semantic data models to ensure scalability, consistency, and performance
  • Develop and maintain complex Power BI reports and dashboards where needed
  • Ensure alignment between semantic models and business reporting needs
  • Translate reporting and analytics requirements into structured data model enhancements
  • Advocate for clean, reusable, and governed data structures


DevOps & Deployment

  • Support and improve DevOps practices for Power BI, including version control, deployment pipelines, and lifecycle management of PBIX files
  • Contribute to environment strategy (e.g., dev/test/prod) and release processes


Architecture & Cross-Project Contribution

  • Contribute to light architecture decisions across multiple projects and clients

  • Strong expertise in Power BI development, including PBIX management and semantic modeling

Technical Skills

  • Deep understanding of data modeling principles within Power BI (star schema, performance tuning, DAX optimization)
  • Experience bridging BI and data engineering, including translating reporting needs into backend data changes
  • Hands-on experience with Azure data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, or similar)


DevOps & Delivery

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices for Power BI (version control, CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies)
