What is data stewardship?

Data stewardship is the practice of managing an organization's data assets to ensure their quality, security, and proper use. Data stewards are responsible for defining data standards, maintaining data integrity, and ensuring compliance with regulations and policies. Their role is essential in enabling accurate reporting, analytics, and decision-making by making sure data is trustworthy and accessible to authorized users. Data stewardship often involves collaboration with IT, compliance, and business units to develop data governance frameworks and best practices.

How does a Data Steward typically collaborate with other departments to ensure data quality and compliance?

As a Data Steward, you will work closely with cross-functional teams such as IT, compliance, analytics, and business units to define and enforce data standards, policies, and governance frameworks.
