IT PMO & AI Solutions Intern

This position is hybrid working 3 days a week in our Legacy West Support Center located in Plano, TX

Beauty Systems Group, branded as Cosmo Prof or Armstrong McCall stores, along with its direct sales consultants, sell professionally branded products intended for use and resale by salons to retail consumers.

About the role

ย The IT PMO & AI Solutions Intern supports SBH's evolution toward standardized, data-driven project delivery by partnering with the PMO and fellow interns to design, prototype, and deliver AI-enabled project management tools. This role contributes to solutions that enhance planning accuracy, resource forecasting, governance adherence, and operational efficiency across the IT portfolio.ย 

To apply you must meet these guidelines/requirements:

  • This is a hybrid position requiring onsite work three days per week at the Support Center in Legacy West, Plano, TX.
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
  • Housing, relocation, and transportation assistance are not provided.
  • Availability is required from June 1 through August 7, 2026, with a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build AI-enabled resource capacity management tools to support portfolio planning.ย 

  • Develop AI-assisted project scheduling capabilities to enhance forecasting and timeline accuracy.ย 

  • Create AI-supported PMO process adherence monitoring tools to automate compliance checks.ย 

  • Support PMO standardization initiatives including templates, processes, and governance documentation.ย 

  • Research AI-driven PMO best practices and integrate applicable insights.ย 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect requirements and ensure alignment. Note: AI focus areas may adjust based on organizational needs

Knowledge, skills & abilities requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's program in Business Administration, IT, Computer Science, Project Management, or related field.

  • ย Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problemsolving skills.

  • Understanding or interest in SDLC, governance, and project lifecycle management.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • ย Familiarity with tools such as MS Project, Jira, Confluence, Power BI.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

ย Working conditions & physical requirements

Location: Hybrid | Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday at the Sally Beauty Support Center, Legacy West (Plano, TX); Remote Thursday or Friday

The typical working environment is in the support center office, and the work is sedentary. Typically, the associate may sit comfortably to do the job. However, some tasks and activities may be walking, standing, bending, carrying light items such as papers, files, books, and small parts, driving an automobile to a store location, etc. These activities are not frequent and do not require significant physical demands to perform the work.

While involving everyday risks or discomforts, the work environment is designed with standard safety precautions. These precautions, typical of offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, residences, or commercial vehicles, include using safe work practices with office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, ensuring the safety and comfort of our associates.
