Job description

Position Title: Senior Cybersecurity Engineer
Location: Merrifield, VA

Pay Rate: $60 - $65 per hour
Position Description:
Join a dynamic cybersecurity team as a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer specializing in Data Scanning. In this full-time, on-site role, you will lead and support enterprise data scanning initiatives, providing technical oversight and hands-on implementation. You'll evaluate solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive continuous improvement to ensure robust data security and compliance. Your expertise will be critical in deploying scalable security solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining comprehensive documentation. This position offers a typical 40-hour workweek, with occasional evening or weekend support as needed to meet project and deployment deadlines.
Top Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in system design, administration, and security
  • 3-5 years of networking experience including TCP/IP, firewall rules, DNS, and proxy configuration
  • Proven experience with Data Scanning and Classification tools (BigID, Varonis)
  • Experience working with Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes
  • Linux administration and container platform experience (AKS, Docker, Helm)
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of machine learning and automation concepts
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Active CISSP certification (preferred)
