Job description

Job Description Strategic Staffing Solutions is currently looking for a Data Engineer for a W2 contract opportunity. Data Engineer II - Tax Platforms (Contract) Location: St. Louis, MO Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote) Contract Duration: 6 months Manager: Brokerage Tax Operations This is a W2 contract position only.

No C2C/No 1099 worktypes. Role Overview: This role is a datafocused engineering position supporting tax platform implementations. It is not an infrastructure role.

The focus is on data validation, reconciliation, testing support, and root cause analysis for tax reporting and cost basis systems. Key Responsibilities: Write and execute queries to test, validate, and reconcile data across systems. Perform detailed data reconciliation between internal platforms and vendor solutions.

Analyze large datasets supporting tax reporting and cost basis outputs. Investigate data issues, identify root causes, and support remediation efforts. Build targeted inhouse tools or automation to improve data quality and efficiency.

Support data conversion and testing phases during system implementations. Partner closely with business teams throughout testing and delivery cycles Required Experience & Skills: Strong data engineering or data validation background Advanced SQL experience required; Oracle exposure is a plus. Experience with data testing, reconciliation, or system implementation support.

Exposure to tax reporting, cost basis, or regulatory data preferred. Experience with tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, Python, or Power Apps is a plus. Comfortable working in highaccuracy, regulatorysensitive environments "Beware of scams.
