Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Spring, TX that is seeking a Senior Data Scientist. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.
Summary:
Our client is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to design, build, and deploy scalable AI and machine learning solutions using the Databricks Lakehouse Platform. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional teams to transform complex data into production-grade digital products that drive measurable business impact. You will work across the full analytics and ML lifecycle-from data ingestion and modeling to deployment, monitoring, and governance-while mentoring junior team members and advancing modern AI capabilities across the organization.
REQUIREMENTS:
* 5-7 years of experience as a Senior Data Scientist and 7+ years of experience in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
* Demonstrated experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to define business requirements and deliver Databricks-based ML solutions
* Experience with modern data architectures, including Delta Lake, Azure Data Lake, SQL Warehouses, and Synapse Analytics
* Hands-on experience with AutoML platforms (e.g., Dataiku) and familiarity with Azure AutoML and Mosaic AI AutoML (Databricks)
* Deep understanding of Azure cloud technologies, including Azure Machine Learning, Azure DevOps, Cognitive Search, and Azure OpenAI
* Familiarity with Generative AI and Large Language Models, including transformer architectures, Hugging Face frameworks, and Lakehouse-native LLM serving
* Expertise in machine learning, applied AI, statistical modeling, and data mining using the Databricks Lakehouse Platform, Azure ML, and (optionally) Dataiku
* Advanced proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, and familiarity with tools such as Jupyter, VS Code, MLflow, and Databricks Repos
* Skilled in designing end-to-end ML pipelines and converting analytics into business impact on Databricks
* Proven track record leading AI/ML projects from ideation to production deployment
* Strong communication skills with the ability to translate analytical findings and ML outputs into actionable business insights
* Strong mentoring and leadership capabilities for developing early-career team members
* Entrepreneurial problem-solving mindset with a strong focus on experimenting, scaling, and delivering measurable value
* Demonstrated ability to solve complex data challenges with practical, scalable, and innovative solutions
* Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new domains, technologies, and Databricks platform features
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
