Position Overview:

The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating complex, multi-faceted programs at Spirit. This role requires a strategic thinker who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, align program objectives with business goals, and ensure successful delivery of high-quality services to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and project management. The Program Manager will collaborate with technical sales, engineering, and lab teams to manage reliability testing, assembly, and supply chain services programs for our customers. The Program Manager will report directly to the customer regarding the technical aspects of projects, schedule demands, outsourced subcontractors, work order creation and amendment, planning, equipment allocation as it relates to multiple jobs, data review, and data pack creation. The Program Manager must be experienced in managing staff of different disciplines to ensure successful program outcomes.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive program plans, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, and risk management
  • Plan, issue, and control material demand to meet production scheduling requirements
  • Advise management on status of work in process, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure materials are available as needed
  • Work cross functionally with all departments to ensure customer on time to requirement (OTTR) goals are met daily/weekly/monthly
  • Ensure daily production requirements are achieved to meet customer expectations
  • Analyze MRP demand regularly
  • Monitor and control program performance using appropriate tools and metrics to track progress and identify potential issues
  • Identify and mitigate program risks, developing contingency plans as necessary
  • Maintain production schedule and reports as required
  • Collaborate with all teams to expedite flow of materials and documents to meet production schedules and customer requirements
  • Monitor daily capacity and production progress to manage adjustments in production planning
  • Work with Technical Sales to determine demand outlook and build long-range production forecasts
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure proper documentation and knowledge transfer throughout the program lifecycle


Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing or related supply chain manufacturing role
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, supply chain, or related field
  • PMP certification or equivalent program management qualification a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specs, drawings, and requirements for microelectronics, semiconductors, and EEE components
  • Demonstrated expertise in program management techniques to achieve optimal program success, of the company and for the customer, as measured by cost, schedule and performance metrics
  • Ability to manage complex relationships and associated contracts with customers and subcontractors while ensuring Spirit successfully delivers on our commitments
  • Ability to analyze and report on contract execution, including scope and metrics for successful business outcomes
  • Experience in project planning, including Gantt charts, MRP analysis, and resource allocation
  • Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to asses and mitigate project risks
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel, and project management tools and software
  • Leadership and team management skills with ability to motivate and direct diverse teams
  • Ability to manage program budgets and program financial operations
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of internal and external organization
