We are looking for a driven, experienced Business and Data Analyst, with a specialization in data visualization to join our Accounting Data & Analytics Team. We support Carvana's Accounting Department to help them benefit from data analysis, data visualization, streamlined data processing, enhanced reporting solutions, and process automation.
An ideal candidate will be able to support our accounting team by developing a deep understanding of the data leveraged by our department, working with stakeholders to understand and document their current processes and reporting needs, and then utilizing their technical skills to build out and implement automated solutions to produce meaningful reporting for the accounting team.
What you'll be doing
  • Design and build scalable data and reporting solutions using tools such as Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake, Alteryx, Python, Tableau, Sigma and modern ETL applications to solve Accounting team challenges.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude Code and Claude Cowork) to accelerate development, automate workflows, and enhance data analysis and documentation.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance executive-level dashboards and reporting in Tableau and Sigma that drive decision-making across Accounting, Finance, and cross-functional partners.
  • Design and manage underlying data structures, including tables, views, and schemas. Write efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformations to support reporting and analytics.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines by integrating data from multiple systems (e.g., Snowflake, Oracle, APIs), ensuring accuracy, reliability, and scalability.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Accounting data, business processes, and system flows across the organization.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and drive adoption of new reporting and processes.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to align with enterprise data architecture and best practices.
  • Support and upskill Accounting team members in tools such as Tableau, Sigma and Alteryx, helping elevate overall data fluency within the team.
  • Take ownership of ad-hoc analyses and special projects, delivering clear insights and actionable recommendations.

What you should know/have
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • 1+ years of experience in data, analytics, reporting, or a related field (Accounting or Finance exposure strongly preferred).
  • Strong SQL skills (ability to write complex queries, joins, and stored procedures).
  • Experience with Tableau, Sigma or similar data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with modern data environments (e.g., Snowflake, relational databases, ETL workflows).
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex problems and work with large datasets.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Interest in Accounting/Finance data and how it ties to business operations.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools and technologies, including AI-assisted development, Python, and data automation.
  • Ability to operate independently in an ambiguous environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate data into clear insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across functions.

It would be great if you also had
  • Experience working with Accounting data, close processes, or financial reporting.
  • Exposure to Oracle or other ERP systems.
  • Experience with Alteryx or similar data transformation tools.
  • Familiarity with Python and APIs
  • Exposure to Databricks or other large-scale data processing platforms.

What we'll offer in return
  • Full-Time Salary Position with a competitive salary.
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits.
  • 401K with company match.
  • A multitude of perks including student loan payments, discounts on vehicles, benefits for your pets, and much more.
  • A great wellness program to keep you healthy and happy both physically and mentally.
  • Access to opportunities to expand your skill set and share your knowledge with others across the organization.
  • A company culture of promotions from within, with a start-up atmosphere allowing for varied career development.
