Major Duties
  • Process daily case intake by utilizing specialized federal software to assign and prepare new disability claims for evaluation.
  • Manage high-volume clerical tasks including photocopying, scanning, data entry, indexing in electronic queues, and filing.
  • Handle incoming mail, monitor fax machines and printers, and prepare outgoing mailings within strict deadlines.
  • Answer the statewide toll-free line to address basic inquiries, navigate systems to identify assigned examiners, and route calls appropriately.
  • Review sensitive program forms and documentation according to specific parameters established during training.
  • Assist with specialized indexing, certifications, and tasks regarding medical examinations and fiscal payments.

What We Are Looking For
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new, specialized electronic applications.
  • High attention to detail, precision, and discretion when handling highly sensitive and confidential personal information.
  • Excellent phone skills, clear communication, and a history of providing great customer service.
  • Proven punctuality, reliability, and the efficiency required to manage a steady, constant volume of documentation.
  • Demonstrated tact, cooperation, and professionalism when interacting with coworkers, supervisors, and the public.
  • Ability to successfully pass a Federal Background Check with fingerprinting and obtain a Real ID promptly.

Exciting Opportunity Details
  • Rate: $21.00 per hour
  • Number of openings: 2 available positions
  • Length of engagement: Long term contract, up to March 2029
  • Days/Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (37.5 to 40 hours per week)
  • Location: Albany, NY (100% in-office on the 9th floor; accessible via CDTA and nearby bus lines; limited meter/private lot parking available)
