About the Role

Suzano is expanding its operations in the U.S. and is seeking an experiencedProcess Manager - Evaporator &Recoveryto join our team inPine Bluff, Arkansas.

This roleisresponsible fortechnical process leadership and continuous improvementacross Evaporator &Recovery areas, including steam and power generation, energyrecovery, chemicalrecovery,andwatertreatment. The Process Manager partners closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensurestable, efficient, safe, and environmentally compliant processes that support overall mill performance.

The ideal candidate combines strong process engineeringexpertisewith a collaborative, people-centeredmindsetand a passion for operational excellence.

WhatYou'reGoing to Do

Process Ownership & Technical Leadership

  • Act as theprocess ownerfor Evaporator &Recovery systems, includingrecovery boilers, power boilers, steam turbines, evaporators, and water treatment.

  • Ensureprocesses areoperatedwithin defined standards, targets, and best practices.

  • Support optimization of steam, power, and chemicalrecovery to meet mill demands while maximizing efficiency andrecovery rates.

  • Serve as the primary technicalresource for troubleshooting complex process issues.

Safety, Environmental &Regulatory Support

  • Champion safe process design and operation, embedding safety into daily activities and standard operating procedures.

  • Support compliance with environmental, health, and safetyregulations (EPA, OSHA, and localrequirements).

  • Analyze process conditions and incidents to proactively identify and mitigate safety or environmental risks.

  • Partner with EHS teams on audits, investigations, and corrective actions.

Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor process KPIs and operating data toidentifygaps, losses, and improvement opportunities.

  • Lead root cause analyses for process deviations, equipment upsets, andreliability issues.

  • Develop and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency,reliability, cost performance, and sustainability.

  • Support capital projects, startups, shutdowns, and turnarounds from a process design and optimization perspective.

Collaboration & Capability Building

  • Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Automation teams to drive aligned solutions.

  • Provide technical coaching and mentoring to operators, engineers, and supervisors.

  • Support training content, operating philosophies, and standard work for Power &Recovery areas.

  • Promote knowledge sharing and adoption of best practices across the organization.

What We Expect from You

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree inChemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, orarelatedfield.

  • Experiencein utilities or Evaporator &Recovery operations, preferably within the pulp & paper or heavy manufacturing industry.

  • Demonstrated experience inprocess optimization, troubleshooting, and performance improvementin industrial systems.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical understanding of recovery boilers, power boilers, steam turbines, evaporators, and energy systems.

  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable improvements.

  • Knowledge of environmental and safetyregulationsrelated to industrial utilities.

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to influence without direct authority.

  • Continuous improvement mindset with experience applying structured problem-solving tools.

  • Leadership experience - this individual will be managing a team of 11-14 team members.
