Job description

Overview

This role works closely with the SQA Manager or Director to define data warehouse and BI testing strategy and processes in line with Enterprise standards. Responsible for creating, executing and maintaining a project level data testing strategy and framework for a given set of data testing tools.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with the SQA Manager or Director and project teams to establish the data testing strategy, approach, and plan for projects
  • Designs and implements test data management and testing frameworks using Informatica or similar technologies.
  • Adheres to Enterprise practices for various aspects of test data management, including data masking, retention, historical data management, virtualization, sub-setting, synthesis, randomization, cleansing, refreshing, aging, cloning, archiving, versioning, disposal, prioritization, and traceability.
  • Manages the process for accepting, provisioning, and fulfilling data requests from ongoing projects, coordinating with the release team to align timelines with integrated application environments and code availability.
  • Utilizes Informatica to test ETL loads at different stages of data acquisition, including extraction (from operational sources, XML, DB2, flat files, COBOL, etc.), transformation (merging, cleansing, scrubbing, aggregation), staging, pre-load, and deployment to data warehouses and operational data stores.
  • Provides expertise in automating data warehouse and operational data store testing processes and validations using Informatica and other automation tools.
  • Tests data quality and collaborates with the business team to document quality requirements.
  • Identifies test data environment requirements and collaborates with infrastructure, network operations, environment, and release teams to set up the necessary environments for fulfilling test data requests.
  • Works with various stakeholders to define and document test data requirements, identify common data elements, and establish business rules.
  • Creates knowledge management deliverables, including documentation of processes and procedures.
  • Develops an automation suite for master data preparation across various applications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Or commensurate selection criteria experience. - Required
  • Data Integration / Business Intelligence testing in a complex environment working with an engine based ETL tool - Required
  • Experience identifying, defining and quantifying problems, collecting and interpreting data, establishing facts, and providing effective solutions. Examples from work experience include identifying moderate to complex issues, quantifying these problems, and delivering effective resolutions. - Required
  • Understand data models from a technical solution and business use perspective -
  • Proficient in writing complex SQL queries for testing ODS, DataMarts, and Data Warehouses. -
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, working across multiple platforms, architectures, and diverse technologies -
  • Ability to deliver quality results in a busy and dynamic business focused environment. -
  • Meticulous attention to detail, consistently seeking ways to improve and promote quality, and applying feedback to enhance individual performance. -
  • Quick learner of product and data architecture through existing diagrams, schemas, and blueprints. -

Work Setting/Position Demands:

  • Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.
  • Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis.
  • Requires visual acuity to read and interpret a variety of correspondence, procedures, reports and forms via paper and electronic documents, visual inspection involving small defects; small parts, and/or operation of machinery (including inspection); using measurement devices continuously. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
  • Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports and forms using prescribed formats and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style on a regular basis.
