JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Data Visualization and Report Specialist, you will apply foundational planning skills while growing into more advanced responsibilities across a diverse and exciting portfolio of multimodal transportation initiatives. In this role, you will:

Collaborate with planning staff to display, write, and present solutions that help communities strengthen their transportation systems

Support planning in active transportation, transit-oriented development, and transit network design

Conduct research, analysis, mapping, modeling, and report writing using tools like ArcGIS, Microsoft Office 365 products, and Adobe Creative Cloud

Creatively communicate bicycle, pedestrian, and transit data to advance transportation initiatives

Contribute to the agency's Long-Range Plan, helping to shape the region's long-term vision for accessibility and mobility

Assist with key NOACA initiatives including:

oAddressing local and regional transportation issues through public engagement, research, analysis, and drafting and reviewing Transportation for Livable Communities Initiative (TLCI) Planning Study reports

oCommunicating the value of pop-up/pilot projects that improve safety and demonstrate Complete & Green Streets concepts to support the Street Supplies Program

oDeveloping planning documents including the ACTIVATE Plan, the Regional Trails Plan, and the Transit-Oriented Development Plan

This is a full-time, FLSA-exempt role designed for a planner ready to contribute, grow, and make meaningful regional impact.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in urban/city/regional planning, civil engineering, or related field plus five years of relevant experience

oMaster's degree may substitute for one year of experience

A strong understanding of multimodal transportation planning topics and the ability to communicate them in visual, written, and spoken form

Strong research, communication, planning, and organizational skills

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including creating graphs in Excel and data-focused presentations in PowerPoint

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including touching-up GIS maps in Illustrator and drafting reports in InDesign

Experience with SQL, Python, R, or other scripting languages for automating analysis, visualization, and report templates preferred

Intermediate knowledge of ESRI's ArcGIS software suite

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Salary: $67,800 $94,900, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications
