Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (3+ Months)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Platform Manager to join our Data Technology organization and lead a team of skilled platform engineers as we accelerate our cloud data transformation journey. This role will be instrumental in driving the strategic migration of enterprise data assets to the cloud while partnering closely with Data Architecture, Engineering, and Business stakeholders.
Reporting to the Director of Data Platforms, you will help shape the organization's data strategy, promote data governance best practices, and deliver innovative, scalable data solutions that support business growth and analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of data platform engineers, analysts, contractors, and technical professionals.
  • Drive the implementation and execution of cloud data initiatives and enterprise data platform strategies.
  • Collaborate with Data Architects to translate logical and technical designs into scalable physical data models.
  • Oversee data warehouse operations, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, security, and governance.
  • Partner with operational data, data acquisition, and downstream reporting teams to support analytics and business intelligence needs.
  • Evaluate, prototype, and recommend emerging cloud and data technologies to enhance platform capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain the strategic technology roadmap for enterprise data platforms.
  • Ensure platform reliability by proactively monitoring operational metrics and managing service delivery expectations.
  • Work closely with technology and business stakeholders to architect and enable a robust enterprise data ecosystem.
  • Champion data governance, data quality, and modern data management practices across the organization.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience managing Data Warehouse, Data Engineering, or Data Platform teams.
  • 7+ years of overall IT experience.
  • Proven experience implementing enterprise-scale cloud data solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and data governance frameworks.
  • Experience leading teams and managing technical resources in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with AWS data technologies, including:
    • AWS Lambda
    • Amazon S3
    • Amazon EC2
    • AWS IAM
  • Experience with ETL/Data Integration tools such as:
    • AWS Glue
    • Informatica
    • IBM InfoSphere
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Experience with one or more programming languages such as:
    • Python
    • Java
    • Scala
    • C/C++
  • Ability to assess emerging technologies and recommend cloud-native data platforms and solutions.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and team-building skills.
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments, preferably within financial services or banking.
