Job Description

The VP/Director of Data Processing will lead all aspects of data management and processing for direct mail campaigns, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in handling client data. This role is critical in bridging data operations with print production workflows, driving innovation in data-driven personalization, and maintaining the highest standards of data security and postal compliance.

Responsibilities

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Operational Leadership:

- Manage teams across multiple locations with regular check-ins to monitor performance, resolve issues, and align priorities.

- Track data processing, production schedules, and compliance metrics to ensure smooth operations.

- Address operational bottlenecks quickly and make data-drive decisions under pressure.

- Identify opportunities for process optimization & technology upgrades.

- Coach and mentor Principal leads.

- Ability to collaborate across functional teams.

- Participate in direct mail product development.

Strategic Leadership:- Develop and execute a data processing strategy that supports high-volume direct mail production and personalization.- Align data operations with USPS regulations, postal optimization, and industry best practices.Data Operations Management:- Oversee data hygiene, address standardization, NCOA processing, and merge/purge operations.- Ensure accurate data segmentation for targeted marketing campaigns and variable print workflows.- Manage data workflows from client intake through final print-ready output.Technology & Innovation:- Implement advanced tools for data processing automation, postal optimization, and campaign analytics.- Drive adoption of cloud-based solutions and secure data transfer protocols.Compliance & Security:- Maintain strict adherence to data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and client confidentiality agreements.- Ensure compliance with USPS regulations and industry certifications.Client & Cross-Functional Collaboration:- Partner with account management, production, and IT teams to deliver accurate and timely data solutions.- Serve as a subject matter expert for clients on data requirements and best practices.

Qualifications

Education:- Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred).Experience:- 10+ years in data processing for direct mail or print production environments.- 5+ years in a senior leadership role managing large-scale data operations.Skills:- Expertise in postal regulations, address hygiene, and data compliance.- Proficiency with data processing software (e.g., BCC Mail Manager, Satori, Quadient, or similar).- Strong understanding of variable data printing (VDP) and campaign personalization.

- SDLC (software development life cycle). 

- MS SQL experience and scripting experience (i.e. Python, etc.)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with high-volume direct mail campaigns and postal optimization strategies.- Knowledge of marketing data analytics and campaign performance metrics.- Ability to lead process improvements and implement automation for efficiency.

 Compensation Range: USD $168,150.00 - USD $210,605.00/Annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. This role may also be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met.
