Job description

Great opportunity for a Data Management Engineer that will be responsible for ensuring the quality of engineering tag data across assigned projects, focusing on Correctness, Completeness, and Consistency (the three Cs of data quality). This role works closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Completion & Commissioning, vendors, and Digital teams to identify, communicate, and resolve data quality issues while developing sustainable processes, standards, and procedures that strengthen data management across the organization.



Duties:


- Accountable for the quality of all tag data on assigned projects, ensuring data meets established standards for Correctness, Completeness, and Consistency.


- Perform data quality reviews, validation, and reconciliation of engineering tag data within project databases.


- Partner with Engineering disciplines to identify, explain, and resolve data quality issues while supporting project schedules and deliverables.


- Develop repeatable processes, controls, and best practices to prevent recurring data quality issues across projects.


- Author, maintain, and improve corporate data management procedures, standards, and governance documentation.


- Define, monitor, and report data quality KPIs, escalating risks, trends, and issues to key stakeholders.


- Coordinate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Completion & Commissioning, Document Control, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project data requirements.


- Collaborate with Digital, Analytics, and IT teams to support project databases, data management tools, and long-term enterprise data initiatives.


- Drive data quality improvements through influence and stakeholder engagement without direct ownership of data entry activities.


- Support continuous improvement efforts and help build standard practices in a developing and evolving data management environment.






Requirements:


- 5+ years of experience in Information Management, Data Management, Engineering Data Management, or related roles within an Oil & Gas EPC environment.


- Hands-on experience with engineering tag data, tag databases, and tag registers.


- Proven experience performing data quality assessments and driving corrective actions with engineering teams.


- Strong understanding of engineering data, EPC workflows, relational databases, and data quality principles.


- Experience with engineering systems and platforms such as AVEVA, SAP, EDMS, CMMS, or similar.


- Advanced Excel skills required; SQL and data validation tools preferred.


- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar) is preferred.


- Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related engineering background is highly desirable.


- Strong communication, stakeholder management, process improvement, and documentation skills.


- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments and establish new standards, processes, and best practices.
