Responsibilities

Summary:
The Data Intelligence Intern will support the Division of Analytics, Intelligence, and Reporting by assisting with data analysis, business intelligence, automation, and reporting initiatives. This role provides firsthand exposure to data intelligence, analytics, artificial intelligence, and operational reporting while supporting Data Intelligence Analysts, Data Scientists, and other team members in the development and maintenance of data driven solutions. This position is designed to provide practical experience in analytics, intelligence, reporting, and emerging technologies while developing professional skills in a collaborative environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Data Intelligence Intern assists with data collection, validation, and quality assurance activities to support reporting and analytics initiatives.
  • Supports the preparation, maintenance, and distribution of reports, dashboards, and other business intelligence deliverables.
  • The Data Intelligence Intern assists with documenting business processes, data flows, and reporting requirements.
  • Learns and supports business intelligence, reporting, and analytics platforms utilized by the Division.
  • Conducts research on industry trends, emerging technologies, data analytics methodologies, and automation opportunities.
  • Assists with process improvement initiatives by identifying and documenting manual workflows and supporting automation efforts.
  • Supports testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities related to reports, dashboards, and data intelligence solutions.
  • Maintains project documentation, knowledge repositories, and other departmental resources.
  • Participates in meetings, training sessions, and collaborative planning activities to gain practical experience in analytics, intelligence, and reporting functions.
  • Provides administrative and operational support to Data Intelligence Analysts, Data Scientists, and division leadership as needed.
  • Assists with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, or a Technology related field.
  • Experience with (or willingness to learn) software such as MSSQL, Power BI, Tableau, Azure DevOps, AWS Sagemaker and Redshift, Microsoft 365 suite.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and PowerShell programming languages.
  • Preferred experience with debugging and development in R, HTML and Bash.
  • Preferred familiarity with data mining, statistical analysis, data visualization, machine learning concepts, or predictive analytics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and willingness to take initiative.
