What is a data implementation analyst?

A Data Implementation Analyst is a professional who specializes in integrating, configuring, and ensuring the successful deployment of data solutions for clients or organizations. They work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to understand data requirements, map data sources, and oversee the transfer and validation of data. Their responsibilities often include troubleshooting data issues, optimizing data workflows, and providing technical support during the implementation phase. Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills are essential for this role.

What are some common challenges faced by data implementation analysts during new client onboarding?

Data Implementation Analysts often encounter challenges such as integrating complex client data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy, and adapting to unique client requirements. They must communicate effectively with both technical teams and client stakeholders to clarify data specifications and resolve discrepancies quickly. Time management is critical, as onboarding projects may have tight deadlines and require simultaneous coordination across multiple teams. Successful analysts leverage strong analytical skills and attention to detail to deliver smooth, accurate implementations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a data implementation analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Data Implementation Analyst, you need strong analytical abilities, knowledge of data management principles, and a relevant degree such as in computer science or information systems. Exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication help you understand client requirements and collaborate with stakeholders. These skills ensure smooth data migrations, accurate implementations, and successful project outcomes in data-driven environments.

Company Description
Air is the leader in Enterprise Readiness. Our mission is to establish readiness as a real-time condition that is continuously achieved. Today, a dangerous Readiness Gap exists between what the front line needs and what is delivered. Our AI-native platform, Air Enterprise Readiness, aligns development, production, delivery, and sustainment into one coordinated execution system for government agencies and industrial suppliers. By revealing true capacity, exposing real constraints, coordinating resources, and executing at the speed of operational demands, the front line gets what it needs to succeed.
Job Description
Air is looking for motivated, curious, and data-driven individuals to join our team as Implementation Engineers. Implementation Engineers at Air have a quantitative mindset and firm understanding of how to use technology and data to solve hard customer problems. Implementation Engineers are responsible for leveraging quantitative skills to configure Air's technology to achieve customer outcomes, communicate data-driven insights to executives in the national security community, and produce compelling program insights, data visualization, and briefings.
In order to do this job well, you must be analytical, understand people, have a strong drive to use technology to solve the hardest problems, and want to learn everything, particularly about the most pressing national security challenges confronting the nation and how data and machine learning can help address them.
You're eager to build a deep understanding of US Government and Defense acquisition processes and the importance of effective and efficient program management, supply chain risk management, and program and technology modernization. You ask hard, uncomfortable questions. You know there are always multiple answers to hard problems, and you know how to engage in a constructive dialogue to find the best path forward.
This role is a full-time position located out of our office in Arlington, VA.
This role requires 60% travel to client sites across the United States - CONUS and OCONUS

  • Develop expertise in Air's clients, offerings, and data, and support customers as an Air product and data expert
  • Execute the successful implementation of software and data to Air's customers and provide platform training
  • Use coding languages (SQL, Python) to conduct technical platform configuration and data integration
  • Collaborate with Air Engagement Managers and Product Managers to capture market demand and user needs for inclusion into Air's offerings
  • Proactively drive utilization of the product using targeted training and engagement strategies that drive mission outcomes and analytical insights for platform users
  • Develop and maintain documentation, such as tailored user guide reference materials

  • Provide technical workflow development and configuration
  • Communicate data-driven insights to executives in the national security space
  • Conduct in-depth quantitative and qualitative analyses on problems of importance to U.S. national security community using data visualization, compelling written paper and briefings
  • Provide product demonstrations in support of sales pursuits efforts

Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, International Relations, Political Science, International Security or similar fields, or 1-4 years of equivalent experience

Required Skills:
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language - SQL, Python, or R - sufficient to write and debug code independently. Comfort in more than one is a plus, but working ability in one is required.
  • 2-6 years of relevant experience, including undergraduate or graduate roles or internships, performing national security-related analytics; preference for research, quantitative analysis, data manipulation, and data visualization skills
  • Excellent professional demeanor with a willingness to work outside of your comfort zone in a fast-paced environment without hesitation
  • Strong aptitude for solving open-ended issues in unpredictable, unstructured environments
  • Outstanding listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple work-streams and projects, learn quickly, and work independently with little supervision

Desired Skills:
  • Current possession of a U.S. security clearance, or the ability to obtain one with our sponsorship
  • Experience in or exposure to the nuances of a startup or other entrepreneurial environment
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in user support or user engagement with a focus on platform and product utilization
