Data Governance Specialist

The Opportunity:

As a Data Governance Specialist, you understand that to drive insights with data, organizations need data and processes to be well-governed. With the abundance of structured and unstructured data, you understand the challenges of enabling organizations toleveragecomplex datasets while protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the data. As a Data Governance Specialist at Booz Allen, you can use your skills and experience to support a mission and use data for good. We need a Data Governance Specialist like you to bring your knowledge to empower the meaningful use of complex high-throughput data for public health betterment.

As a client-facing data analyst on our health team,you'llwork closely with your clients to understand their questions and needs and thenleverageyour keen understanding of data governance principles and data standards to accelerate and enable their data projects. Not only will you provide a deep understanding of their data, butyou'llalso advise your client on what the information means and how it can be used to make an impact on our client's overall public health mission. This positionis located inAtlanta, GA.

What You'll Work On:

  • Develop and implement data standards to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and translate them into data policies.
  • Analyze data and business processestoidentifygaps and inconsistencies in data standards and policies.
  • Monitor compliance withdatapolicies and report on performance.
  • Utilize project management skills to support documentation needs, run collaboration meetings, ensure action items are tracked, and translate feedback into written policy and implementation plans.

You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience in a data governance or data management role in a public health or healthcare setting
  • Experience supporting legal agreements definition and developments, including gap analysis and agreement negotiations
  • Experience with records management
  • Knowledge of regulations, requirements, and guidance associated with public health data standards
  • Knowledge of Data Use Agreements (DUAs) or Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) for intra-agency and inter-agency public health use cases
  • Knowledge of data lifecycle principles and methodologies
  • Ability to obtain andmaintaina Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with the preparation of data sets for regulatory submission
  • Experience with data transmission standards, including HL7 and FHIR, ensuring effective data exchange
  • Experience with data standards governance
  • Experience with the CDC's Data Modernization Initiative
  • Experience with CDC data policies and standards inclusive of data authority, interoperability, and modernization
  • Experience with multiple data catalogs such as Alation and Cloudera
  • Knowledge of coordinating with constraints that state and local health departments are underregardingdata collection and data sharing

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
