Job description

Job Title: Healthcare Data Entry Specialist

Location: Hybrid

Schedule: Mondayโ€“Friday, 8:00 AMโ€“5:00 PM

Pay Rate: Up to $22/hr. W2

Duration: 3+ months

Standard laptop equipment will be provided.


Job Summary

The Group Level Processor/Healthcare Data Entry Specialist will process health plan-related data and group-level changes through automated systems while meeting established production, accuracy, and quality standards. This role supports renewals, new group installations, billing updates, benefit and rate changes, group cancellations, and member eligibility issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process group-level changes, including renewals, new group installations, billing unit updates, name/address changes, benefits, rates, and cancellations.
  • Enter, update, maintain, and verify data across complex computer systems.
  • Research and resolve enrollment, eligibility, and other data discrepancies.
  • Look up appropriate codes and accurately enter information into internal systems.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, Sales, Brokers, employer groups, Customer Service, and other business partners to verify or resolve issues.
  • Maintain reports and complete related administrative or clerical tasks as needed.
  • Follow applicable state and federal regulations and established internal procedures.
  • Develop and apply a basic understanding of Blue Shield plans when building and updating groups.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability.
  • Experience with high-volume data entry, data validation, or database maintenance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical procedures or government regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic and accurately work with detailed information.
  • Reliable, wired Ethernet connection required for remote work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Facets.
  • Medicare experience.
  • Healthcare, health insurance, enrollment, eligibility, benefits, or group administration experience.
