Join the Community College of Denver as a Student Ambassador and develop leadership, communication, and professional skills while serving as a welcoming face of campus through tours, outreach, and front desk support.

Job Summary:

The Welcome Centers within the Office of Admissions, Recruitment, and Outreach at the Community College of Denver serve as a primary point of contact for prospective, incoming, and current students, members of the public, community partners, and campus staff/faculty. The department is responsible for delivering accessible, accurate, and welcoming information about the college, guiding students through the enrollment process, and supporting recruitment and outreach initiatives. Through personalized assistance, campus tours, and communication efforts, the Welcome Center promotes student engagement and helps ensure a positive and informed entry experience for all visitors.
The Student Ambassador position is a student employment (work-study) role designed to support the mission of the Welcome Center by providing high-quality customer service and serving as a peer resource for prospective and current students. Student Ambassadors act as front-line representatives of the college, helping to create a welcoming and inclusive environment while assisting with recruitment, communication, and administrative functions. This position offers students the opportunity to develop professional, communication, and leadership skills while contributing to the college’s enrollment and retention goals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Student Ambassadors play a vital role in the daily operations and outreach efforts of the Welcome Center. Under the supervision of the Welcome Centers Coordinator and/or Director of Admissions, Student Ambassadors:
- Lead campus tours, offering engaging and informative experiences that highlight programs, resources, and student life.
- Staff the Welcome Center in Confluence, Admissions and Records Desk in Confluence, and Info Desk in Cherry Creek, providing professional and friendly assistance to visitors, answering questions, and directing inquiries appropriately.
- Respond to inquiries from prospective and current students via phone, instant messaging, and email in a professional and helpful manner.
- Conduct prospective student outreach, including supporting recruitment events and building relationships with potential students.
- Assist with call campaigns, reaching out to prospective and admitted students to provide information, reminders, and encouragement throughout the enrollment process.
- Perform data entry and administrative tasks, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and supporting departmental operations.
- Assist with Next Steps Orientations and City Hawk Onboarding sessions for prospective and incoming students.
- Represent the college at events and through daily interactions, modeling professionalism and a positive student experience.
- Complete additional duties as assigned to support evolving departmental needs and initiatives.
