Summary:
Tends to machine that performs one or more functions such as filling, marking, labeling, packaging, cooking, stirring, washing, or mixing by performing the following duties.
FOOD SAFETY
This position has shared responsibilities in maintaining the company's SQF food safety and food quality system, complying with any applicable food regulations and striving for continuous improvement in all areas.
SAFETY
It is expected that this position participates in the company's safety program and also play a role creating a safe working environment for everyone.
Essential Functions:
  • Inspect and sanitize machine at the start of shift.
  • Taste and check temperature of product.
  • Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine.
  • Assists in cooking cottage cheese.
  • Sets sour cream.
  • Stops machine and reports malfunction to supervisor.
  • Keeps a record of lot numbers of cartons, lids, buckets and ingredients.
  • Makes minor adjustments or repairs such as opening valves, setting guides, or clearing away damaged product containers.
  • Inspects filled container and weight to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications.
  • Feeds product to conveyors, hoppers, or other feeding devices, and unloads packaged product.
  • Replenishes packaging supplies such as plastic sheet, boxes, cartons, ink, buckets, or labels.
  • Stages daily production ingredients
  • Places supplies on spindles or other feeding devices.
  • Positions and holds container in machine.
  • Rinse, disassemble, wash, sanitize and reassemble machines, vats, and clean work area. This involves hand scrubbing vats and parts and hooking up tanks for CIP.
  • Stirring or mixing Product with a shovel
  • Keep warehouses organized and clean
  • Keep product rotated properly (First in - First out rule)
  • Dispensing and working with Chemicals in a safe manner.
  • Maintain proper code dates and weights for product
  • Data entry in EMRS, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work in a hot/humid environment
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Must be dependable and responsible
  • Ability to maintain good work relations
  • Ability to handle repetitive motions for long periods of time such as twisting, bending, reaching and stirring
  • Ability to lift 50lbs, work with heavy tools and equipment.
