Since 1938, Securityplus Federal Credit Union has proudly served our members and communities as a not-for-profit financial institution. Our mission is to empower people with financial security, providing the tools, resources, and guidance they need to reach their goals with confidence.

Guided by our CARES values of Collaboration, Agility, Respect, Excellence, and Spirit, we create meaningful connections and deliver exceptional service in everything we do. We believe in doing what is right for our members, supporting one another as a team, and making a positive impact that extends far beyond our branches.

Our vision is to be our members' first choice by providing experiences that inspire trust, confidence, and long-term relationships. When you join Securityplus, you become part of a purpose-driven team that believes in service, growth, and the power of community.

About this Role:

Securityplus is undergoing a major technological transformation to become one of the most technologically advanced financial institutions in our market, and this role is central to that vision. We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer who embodies our CARES values (Collaboration, Agility, Respect, Excellence, and Spirit) in how they approach their work and teammates. You will design, build, and manage robust data pipelines that enable us to unlock the full potential of our data.

You will be the primary engine for extracting and transforming data from our core banking system (Fiserv DNA) to support everything from our upcoming CRM implementation to advanced Business Intelligence visualizations. You'll work directly with our executive team to translate their data needs into clear, actionable dashboards and reporting.

The ideal candidate is someone who can make an immediate impact, bringing strong proficiency in Python, experience with complex data transformations, and skill in delivering impactful dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Grafana.

Requirements

In this full-time Exempt role, you'll be responsible for:

Build and Manage Data Pipelines

Develop, construct, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems and pipelines using Python. Extract, transform, and load (ETL) complex datasets from the Fiserv DNA core system to support various business units. Troubleshoot data issues and optimize pipeline performance to ensure reliability and accuracy.

Modernize Legacy Data Processes

Translate legacy data extraction and filtering processes into clean, efficient Python scripts. Implement data quality frameworks including validation checks, monitoring, alerting, and automated reconciliation to improve data integrity across the organization.

Deliver Business Intelligence

Collaborate directly with executive and senior leaders to understand their data needs and deliver accurate business intelligence visualizations. Build and deploy impactful dashboards using modern BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Grafana) that support strategic decision-making.

Shape Data Architecture

Play a critical role in the data architecture and integration strategy for current and future projects. Ensure data architecture is secure, scalable, and adheres to credit union compliance, data governance, and sovereignty standards.

Support Compliance and Documentation

Support compliance and regulatory reporting requirements (e.g., NCUA Call Reports, HMDA, BSA/AML) by ensuring accurate and auditable data flows. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, data dictionaries, and architectural diagrams.

How Success is Measured

Pipeline Reliability:

Ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and timeliness of data pipelines and ETL processes that support business units and executive reporting

Data Quality:

Improving data quality and consistency across the organization through effective validation and reconciliation frameworks

Business Impact: Delivering actionable dashboards and visualizations that support strategic decision-making, CRM implementation, and regulatory compliance

What You'll Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in data engineering or a similar role
  • Strong proficiency in Python, specifically for data manipulation and automation
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience working with complex relational databases
  • Experience building and deploying data visualizations using modern BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple data initiatives simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical data concepts to non-technical business leaders

Preferred:

  • Direct experience working with Fiserv DNA or other banking core systems
  • Previous experience in the credit union or broader financial services industry
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI
  • Proficiency with Python data science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib)
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS)
  • Experience with legacy data parsing tools and migration to modern codebases

Why You'll Love Working at Securityplus:

Mission-Driven Organization:

You'll be part of a credit union that empowers people with financial security.

Competitive Salary & Benefits Package:

We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive retirement benefits, including a 401(k) with company contributions, health, dental, and vision coverage, along with the opportunity to earn an annual performance bonus.

Opportunities for Career Growth:

We value internal development and offer opportunities for career progression into new roles and other departments.

Work-Life Balance:

We believe in work/life balance. No burnout allowed here!
