Job description

The Role:
We are seeking a Looker Data Engineer for a project-based assignment to support a key client initiative. This role will focus on building and optimizing data models, developing scalable reporting solutions, and enabling data-driven decision-making through Looker and modern data stack technologies.ย The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Looker development, data modeling, and programmatic reporting, along with a solid foundation in SQL and cloud data platforms.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Looker data models, including LookML, models, and explores
  • Build and optimize scalable, consumable data models to support business intelligence and strategic decision-making
  • Utilize Looker API 4.0 to enable programmatic access to dashboards, looks, and explores
  • Automate report generation and delivery using Looker API endpoints
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries to improve performance and efficiency
  • Work with Snowflake, dbt, and Python to support data transformation and pipeline development
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate data requirements into scalable BI solutions
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance across reporting layers

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years Looker development experience (LookML, models, explores)
  • Experience working with Looker API 4.0 for programmatic access
  • Experience automating reporting using Looker API endpoints
  • Ability to transform complex data into scalable, consumable data models
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake and Python
  • SQL experience with query optimization

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with dbt
  • Looker administration experience
  • Experience working with BigQuery
  • Experience with modern data pipelines and ELT workflows
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, or BI best practices
  • Experience working in a client-facing or consulting environment
